I had an opportunity to see Return To Forever Tuesday night in Philly. They were beyond amazing!! This is what music was, is and God I pray we can get back to. It was so real and emotional and stirring!! Can we get back to that? I hope so. So much of what we're hearing now sounds the same. Blah...emotionless. I need passion and I got a massive dose Tuesday. Stanley Clarke didn't just played the bass, he caressed it, spanked it, loved it. I, along with I'm sure, the entire audience was mesmerized. Lenny White...no words for his playing...a monster!! He called some of the newer groups we hear boy bands...but assured us that we were listening to a man band. True that!! Dimeola...played that guitar with true abandon...Chick Corea was flawless. They were on stage smiling and laughing, having a good time. I got every penny of what I paid for my ticket and then some. My sister and I said after the show that it felt like we were taken on a journey to another place. Pluto, Mars. Whatever it was and wherever it was, I want to feel it again and again. Music with heart, passion, backbone. Thank you, Chick, Stanley, Al and Lenny!! I am "Forever" a Fan!!
