Yesterday, July 2, Return to Forever started their European Tour leg. Vilnius Utenos Arena for sure isn't the best place for that kind of music. But two thousand of people were absolutely happy to see and to hear the legend from the 60-s there.
I really like Al Di Meola, and he is regular with his concerts in Lithuania. He has a plenty of funs there. Chick Corea had visited Vilnius for a several times as well. The RTF concert was SOLD ten days before the event. I saw hundreds of funs waiting for a "lucky ticket" near entrance before concert.
So-I am inside and the show is started! First part was electric - not very usual, sometimes with sound overdrive, with some perfect solos. Chick Corea was in his best form, funs supported the music warmly. After the break we got what was the best-acoustic RTF, very similar to original sound we loved from LP's in 60-s. Al Di Meola's acoustic solo introduction exploded the Arena! Absolutely perfect Stanley Clark's vertical bass solo - I newer saw bass player as him! Fantastic! Beloved Chisk Corea piano sounds - all this was real RTF! Two hours of highest standart music! For sure, it will be The Event Of The Year in Vilnius!
Two more songs for Bis! Electric again... All 2000 of funs staying with applauces we realy happy with what they got for that beautiful evening!
